Ardent Displays Goes Solar
Ardent Displays (Ardent) is a full-service POP display and promotions manufacturer in East Hartford, CT. They partnered with EnterSolar to install a 328 kilowatt (kW) rooftop solar system on their corporate headquarters facility in East Hartford, CT.
Solar Photovoltaic System Specifications and Environmental Benefits
The Ardent solar installation includes over 1,300 individual 250 watt modules, a central commercial inverter, a ballasted non-penetrating racking solution and a string-level data monitoring system with an integrated commercial weather station.
The system is expected to produce over 360,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity annually, providing almost 80 percent of the facility’s current annual consumption. The environmental benefits of generating clean power are equivalent to removing 50 cars from the road for one year or powering 45 homes. This solar system will allow Ardent to avoid 383,760 lbs of carbon dioxide emissions a year.
Significant Financial Returns through Solar
The solar project utilizes the Connecticut Zero Emissions Renewable Energy Credit (ZREC) program. The ZREC 15-year contract income will provide a predicable long-term incremental cash flow stream. Additionally, Ardent benefited from the available federal energy solar incentives to complete their solar system. EnterSolar’s expertise in optimizing system design and solar project financing made going solar a sound capital investment for Ardent.
