Cozzoli's Latest Green Initiative Improves Environment While Cutting Costs

Cozzoli Machine Company, a leading provider of technologically advanced machinery for the packaging industry, today announced the completion of a rooftop solar photo-voltaic energy system atop its Somerset, New Jersey corporate headquarters and manufacturing facility. Cozzoli completed this major solar project in partnership with EnterSolar, a provider of premium solar solutions to commercial enterprises.

Cozzoli has a strong commitment to environmentally sound business practices and, after several years in the planning stages, we are delighted to announce the completion of our solar system,‚said Joan Cozzoli Rooney, president, Cozzoli Machine Company. "Going forward, the clean solar electricity produced by the rooftop system will provide almost all of Cozzoli‚ annual energy requirements‚. EnterSolar arranged a solar power purchase agreement (PPA) for Cozzoli, whereby Cozzoli was able to convert to solar energy and enjoy attractive long-term power pricing with no upfront capital cost.

The state-of-the-art 336 kilowatt (kW) solar photovoltaic system features high-efficiency solar panels, a non-penetrating racking system, and string-level monitoring capabilities. In addition to immediate and substantial financial savings for Cozzoli, the system will provide significant environmental benefits as well. The system's green electricity will yield environmental benefits equivalent to reducing Cozzoli's CO2 footprint by over 540,000 lbs per year, or planting over 63 acres of new trees.

"EnterSolar is proud to support Cozzoli in their vision to harness solar energy to power their business operations," said Peyton Boswell, Managing Director, EnterSolar. "This is a prime example of how businesses can take advantage of attractive solar incentives and creative financing to offset energy costs while generating significant environmental benefit at the same time."

The solar project participated in the PSE&G Solar Loan Program, an innovative financing program that facilitates the deployment of distributed generation solar installations throughout the PSE&G service territory. Legal and advisory services were provided to Cozzoli by environmental law attorney James Sherman, Counsel to McManimon, Scotland & Baumann, LLC.
