Solar O&M Technician

MaxSolar, an affiliate of EnterSolar, is a leading provider of Operations & Maintenance (O&M), Asset Management and Technical Services for solar photovoltaic and battery storage systems in the commercial marketplace.  As a comprehensive services provider, the company can support client needs throughout the entire project life cycle.  MaxSolar programs ensure that system owners receive the maximum energy, environmental, and financial benefits from their assets.

The Senior O&M Technician is required to troubleshoot and resolve solar PV and battery storage system issues, including emergency repairs/corrective maintenance, design change requirements, and equipment modifications/upgrades. Position will also be responsible for Preventative Maintenance activities to support system performance of O&M portfolio, as well as, QA/QC inspections, system commissioning and pre-con site assessments.

Position Location(s): Southern California, Greater Boston Area, New York State Capital Region

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out O&M tasks such as electrical/mechanical inspections, preventative maintenance, IR scanning, torque checks on connections, and overall site conditions.
  • System alarm response/dispatch as needed.
  • Prepare inspection and service reports for site visits, emergency repairs, equipment modifications and equipment troubleshooting.
  • Ensure sites are operating at full power and with the efficiency required.
  • Site conditioning & vegetation control.
  • Work closely with EPC Project Managers to ensure seamless transition between EPC Construction and O&M Maintenance.
  • Communicate with Engineering, O&M team and Management to ensure timely and efficient resolution of all site maintenance activities.
  • Ensure a safe work environment by ensuring strict adherence to company protocols.
  • Audit site processes for compliance assurance
  • Enforce procedures and processes in accordance with site specific O&M Standards and guidelines
  • Perform site/system assessments and QA/QC inspections

Requirements:

  • Licensed Electrician and NABCEP certification preferred.
  • Valid Driver’s license with clean record.
  • Two (2) years minimum experience with field work installing/maintaining grid connected solar systems, including DAS communications equipment.
  • One (1) year minimum experience installing/maintaining commercial scale battery storage systems preferred.
  • Ability to work remotely and independently.
  • Project management/field operations management experience preferred.
  • Previous experience working with power electronic conversion equipment.
  • Experience with metering and test equipment.
  • Experience with centralized DAS/SCADA/EMS control systems.
  • Working knowledge of Commercial Power Plant Operations.

  • Familiarity with CMMS based work order/ticketing systems and mobile reporting tools.

Data & Reporting Analyst

Position Expectations:

The Data & Reporting Analyst will be a critical member of both the digital team and the business units, centered on analyzing, documenting and improving critical business processes, with a specific focus on Salesforce and Tableau/Power BI capabilities. This person will be a key player in providing analytical insights, statistical analysis, data visualizations, and providing insights into KPIs that help drive the business. Information Technology Operations Manager

Position Expectations:

The position will collaborate to establish the operational delivery of the foundational technology services that provides a consistent, cost effective, efficient experience to a variety of business use cases by providing operational leadership and proactively ensuring the reliable operations of the overall IT environment. This position will be responsible for driving modern practices like agile and DevOps to deliver operational services that encompass project oversight, risk management mitigation, data privacy, and security that align with business objectives and priorities. You will build and lead a team to develop our cloud-only approach, respond to user help desk requests, and monitor systems stability and performance. You will provide guidance and leadership to the IT department and its technicians, but also directly supports end users by handling escalations, resolving user issues, and monitoring the performance of business-critical systems to prevent delays and outages and quickly resolve ongoing issues. You will need a strong ability to mentor individuals and teams to think differently about how to approach problem solving and the delivery of operational services and products.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Director of Enterprise Digital & Analytics

EnterSolar is looking for a dynamic leader to serve as the Director of Enterprise Digital & Analytics. The qualified candidate should be flexible, curious, resilient, with a strong interest in joining a fast-growing company focused on onsite distributed energy resources.  This role will lead the IT and analytics functions by focusing on business operations process harmonization and act as the top IT business partner – providing critical support for the growth trajectory of the organization. This position will lead, plan and provide oversight of all internal IT operations across the organization, as well as support of existing applications and development of new technical solutions. This role is responsible for understanding our current cloud-only trajectory, technology platforms and strategy to ensure that we have the right business processes, tools and capabilities required to deliver on our future technical needs. The Director should be comfortable being hands-on while still providing strategic leadership direction and tactical support.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

HR Onboarding Specialist

Development Coordinator

Position Expectations:

The Development Coordinator will sit on the Business Development team at EnterSolar, and will be responsible for the preparation, submission, approval, and close-out of all state/local financial incentives for assigned solar, storage and EV projects. A successful Development Coordinator will be the subject matter expert for all relevant incentive rules, conditions and incentive program changes. They will provide ongoing incentive research to support Business Development activities and overall project strategy. The Development Coordinator will also be responsible for tracking state/local incentives and processes in an internal database, and ensure that all project-level incentive details are accurately reflected in Salesforce.

The Development Coordinator will work closely with the entire Business Development team and will gain substantial exposure to national large-commercial solar and storage development. The Development Coordinator will report directly to the Sr. Manager of Project Development & Operations. The position is full-time and will be based permanently in our New York City headquarters with remote flexibility. Remote candidates are encouraged to apply.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own incentive application process from pre-application to approvals to final payment
  • Apply for financial incentives for solar-PV, storage and EV projects across the Northeast and California
  • Manage key relationships with incentive program administrators
  • Research and track incentive details and procedures across relevant states and utilities in core markets
  • Support broader Business Development efforts analyzing financial incentives across new markets

Permitting Associate

Position Expectations:

The Permitting Associate is responsible for leading the discretionary permitting process (conditional-use and special-use permits) for EnterSolar’s commercial solar and storage pipeline. This individual must exhibit technical knowledge of solar projects, have experience obtaining discretionary permits, be highly organized, collaborative, and possess strong leadership skills. As part of the Project Development team, the Permitting Associate will work closely with other project developers, salespeople and internal stakeholders to ensure the clear understanding, submission, and execution of all discretionary permits. The Permitting Associate will also lead all external engagement with civil sub-contractors and legal counsel on deliverables, designs, and project schedules, and represent EnterSolar at town planning board meetings. The Permitting Associate will also guide the implementation of processes and software necessary to successfully execute permitting approvals.

In addition to the Project Development team, the Permitting Associate will work with the Project Management, Engineering, and Accounting teams.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Discretionary Permitting

  • Lead all internal & external discretionary permitting efforts
  • Conduct pre-construction permitting research to support early-stage development; documenting all research and requirements by AHJ/County
  • Work with project developers and development engineers to establish project-specific
    discretionary permitting requirements including strategies, timelines, budgets, scopes and required documentation
  • Lead all town planning board meetings and act as the EnterSolar primary point of contact
  • Manage relationships with external civil engineers, environmental consultants, and external legal counsel to obtain required studies and surveys in support of permit applications
  • Effectively communicate permitting progress, next steps, design requirements and risks to the internal project teams to inform overall project strategy and investment decisions
  • Coordinate all signatures, notarization, payments, and permit applications for land use, special-use, planning board, and zoning board applications in accordance with established deadlines
  • Lead negotiations for property tax abatements and/or PILOTS with local officials

  • Work with Project Development team to build and implement administrative processes as it relates to tracking and managing the discretionary permitting process

Applications Integration Engineer

We are seeking an experienced integration developer lead who has the expertise in integration of cloud and on-prem systems for ERPs, Salesforce, HCM, Procore, Slack, GSuite, Teams/O365 as well as other enterprise systems. You will work with other technical leads, internal teams, and vendor experts to enable integration between the company’s technologies and solutions. You will be integral in helping to set the direction, establish and enforce standards, implementing solutions, staying updated on current trends, developing best practices and helping to guide new initiatives. This role offers an excellent opportunity to make a real impact and help shape our digital solutions.

In this position, you’ll assess project requirements for technical designs, develop integration code, configuration, and testing, to support integration with enterprise systems/applications using an iterative and agile development methodology. Senior Accountant

EnterSolar is now accepting applications for a Senior Accountant, who will be based out of our New York City office. This qualified candidate should be bright and hard-working, with a strong interest in environmental sustainability and renewable energy, and be available to work on a full-time basis. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for a combination of general accounting functions of EnterSolar, such as general ledger duties, account reconciliations, billing, invoicing, and monthly reporting schedules and analysis.

The Senior Accountant will also support the maintenance and updating of accounting policies and procedures as it relates to their assigned areas.  Finally, this person will be responsible for various other projects as assigned in order to ensure that the financial records are closed timely and in accordance with U.S. GAAP.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Compile and analyze financial information to prepare financial schedules according to the monthly close schedule
  • Work with the Accounting team to help ensure timely month-end close
  • Produce cash reconciliations

Accounts Payable Coordinator

Project Developer – C&I Solar Sales

Position Expectations: EnterSolar is seeking a Project Developer to lead solar and storage projects through the mid to late stages of the C&I sales process. Project Developers will work in close partnership with Origination, Engineering, Legal, Financing and Construction teams to accelerate project schedules and maintain sales momentum. A successful Project Developer will effectively lead their projects and supporting teams through development strategy, interconnection approval, project financing closing, project pricing and contract closing. They will also be eager to address the challenges of company growth while making their mark on EnterSolar’s success.

The Project Developer will report directly to the Manager of Project Development and will be supported by the Analytics, Engineering, Financing, Legal and Construction teams at EnterSolar to provide our enterprise customers with completely turnkey and consultative solar and storage
services.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the development stage of the sales process internally and externally, from project mandate through internal construction handoff
  • Act as internal project champion and lead cross-functional internal teams while driving project schedules with momentum
  • Provide EnterSolar customers and salespeople with project development expertise and transparency to facilitate a consultative sales process
  • Manage the development activities for ~20 project opportunities at any given time

Project Development Engineer

Position Expectations: The Project Development Engineer will be responsible for assisting EnterSolar’s Business Development team through the pre-contract engineering process. This individual will be involved in the overall vetting and preparing of projects for a successful execution by the Project Engineering and Project Management team. Traveling on average once a week should be expected. This individual must exhibit excellent time management and organizational skills, as well as demonstrate the ability to effectively collaborate across departments and externally.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate and set expectations with internal teams regarding Technical Due Diligence during the Project Development phase
  • Help ensure project viability by communicating PV system technology requirements to Business Development team and Clients
  • Keep up to date on interconnection process and incentive structure as it relates to tariffs, state and utilities
  • Request, review, and approve proposals from external vendors (electrical engineer, vendor, structural engineer, storage analysis etc.). Ensure development costs are within approved budget.

Position Expectations: The Financing Associate will play a key role in financing of the company’s solar and/or solar-plus-storage projects. This is an exciting opportunity to join a progressive national renewable energy firm in the Manhattan, New York office. The qualified candidate should have at least 2-4 years of asset financing and transaction experience, be intellectually curious and self-motivated, very well organized, and have a strong interest in financial modeling, project finance, and renewable energy. The Financing Associate will have an opportunity to get involved in all aspects of solar & storage financing and development and will work across the company’s Business Development, Project Management, Engineering, Finance and Accounting departments to support the day-to-day activities around asset sales to drive company profitability.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The Financing Associate will support the day-to-day activities around asset sales to third-party investors. Key responsibilities include:
    • Engage in all aspects of transaction management & execution, including due diligence, data room management, internal risk and return evaluations, and coordinating processes with clients, investors, and internal partners
    • Work closely with the financing team in planning the timing of financing efforts in order to avoid construction delays
    • Create investment materials for financed projects and manage the financial model for asset sales scenarios
    • Prepare documentation and data rooms to assist in investor diligence
    • Assist in running the Q&A process with investors (maintain database, work with internal teams to provide answers, manage investor)

3 Site Supervisors (Consultant)

Position Expectations: The Site Superintendent provides on-site coordination for all phases of solar, solar+storage, and EV charging station construction projects, including managing and coordinating subcontractors, material, and equipment, ensuring that specifications are being strictly followed, and work is proceeding on schedule and within budget. The Superintendent shall be responsible for scheduling, inspections, quality control, and project site safety. The Superintendent also coordinates among Company project stakeholders, including engineering, design, procurement, construction, and O&M (Operations and Maintenance) teams. The Superintendent reports to the Project Manager or Director of Project Management or VP of Project Management.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

95%     Project coordination, supervision, and management, including the following:

  • Schedule and supervise all on-site and (as assigned) off-site subcontractors, consultants, and vendors, as well as ensure their completion of work within time allowed; and assure that all project work by each subcontractor and all materials supplied by any vendor fully complies with project plans, the subcontractor’s contracted scope of work or applicable specifications, applicable laws and permits, utility requirements, and applicable codes, including the National Electric Code.
  • Ensure safe work practices including OSHA standards, company safety programs and policies relative to the installation of these systems. Enforce safety standards established by the client and the company to manage risk and achieve safety and health goals of no incidents and no lost time due to injury and no property damage.
  • Review, interpret, and assure work complies with design drawings, product literature, interconnection agreements, model codes and regulations, communicate deviations from requirements or plans with the project team (i.e., Project Manager, Director, VP
    Engineering and VP of Project Management) for resolution, prior to execution of work that deviates from the requirements or approved plans.Manage project to meet or exceed construction industry practices, processes and

  • Establish and enforce project site schedule, safety, and quality control programs to ensure timely and quality completion of construction without incidents.
  • Coordinate required inspections with local jurisdictions and utilities, including coordination of construction and interconnection activities with interconnecting utility.

Education/Experience
Typically requires:

Working Conditions:
This position involves work at a construction site where duties will be performed both indoors and outdoors, with approximately 30% of time spent indoors (site trailer) utilizing computers (frequent use of various Microsoft software/programs), phones, and general office equipment, and 70% of time spent outside on the project site(s). Frequent travel required to project sites and Company offices. Short- and long-term (6-9 months) stays at project site locations which may be outside of the employee’s home state are required. Weekend and holiday work may be required to meet construction deadlines.

Fiscal Responsibilities:
With prior approval, the Superintendent can incur costs to support the project, such as purchasing and providing materials, snacks for workers, and first aid items. The Superintendent does not have authorization to execute agreements that make fiscal commitments for the Company (subcontracts, change orders, work authorizations).

Project Coordinator

EnterSolar is looking for a full-time Project Coordinator. The position is temporarily based remotely but will be based permanently in our Manhattan Beach, CA office.

The Project Coordinator will assist in planning, coordinating, and managing all aspects of multiple solar energy projects, through completion, at any given time. The responsibilities include coordination with the utilities and townships, permitting, resource management, incentive management, contractor negotiation, and construction management. The Project Management Coordinator facilitates communication with various parties (e.g. subcontractors, vendors, etc.) throughout the entire project.
