Great Neck Saw Goes Solar
Founded in 1919, Great Neck Saw is a leading supplier to the hardware, home improvement and automotive markets globally. They are headquartered in Long Island and have distribution and manufacturing facilities around the world. Great Neck Saw partnered with EnterSolar to install a rooftop solar system on its corporate headquarters facility in Mineola, NY.
Solar Photovoltaic System Specifications & Environmental Benefits
Great Neck Saw’s solar installation is made up of 663 individual panels with a total capacity of 225 kW. The system is expected to produce approximately 286,520 kWh of electricity annually, providing over 16% of the facility’s current annual consumption.
The environmental benefits of generating clean power are equivalent to removing 42 cars from the road, planting 5,066 trees or saving 22,231 gallons of gas per year.
Significant Financial Returns through Solar
This project utilizes the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority’s (NYSERDA) NY Sun Competitive PV Program, which provides financial incentives to businesses that install solar energy systems.
EnterSolar’s expertise in optimizing system design, combined with the available Federal and New York State Solar Incentives yielded Great Neck Saw a rapid payback period and an attractive long-term internal rate of return.
