Fairgrounds Business Development Center Goes Solar
Fairgrounds Realty Associates owns the multi-tenant building that serves Kenyon Consumer Products, RI Mushroom Company, Shaidzon Beer Company and Arnold Lumber’s Backyard. They partnered with EnterSolar
to install a 190 kW solar system on the roof of their warehouse, allowing their tenants to operate using clean, renewable energy.
Solar Photovoltaic System Specifications & Environmental Benefits
The solar photovoltaic system is made up of 644 individual panels atop their facility in West Kingston, RI. The system produces 210,861 kWh annually, generating enough power to offset 80% of their total on-site annual electricity consumption.
The system produces clean energy with the environmental benefits equivalent to saving over 11,570 gallons of gasoline each year. The system enables the companies to avoid 225,241 lbs of CO2 per year, greatly reducing their carbon footprint.
Significant Financial Returns through Solar
The Fairgrounds Business Development Center utilized net metering and the Rhode Island Renewable Energy Fund (REF) Incentive, which offers grants and rebates for solar projects to encourage the growth of renewable
energy in the state. EnterSolar’s expertise in optimizing system design and solar project financing made going solar a sound capital investment for all parties involved.
