Solar Photovoltaic System Specifications
The project is made up of 1,026 individual modules and is expected to produce an estimated 398,338 kWh of clean energy. The solar system will produce enough energy to offset a significant portion of the on-site annual
The system’s environmental benefits are equivalent to saving 21,817 gallons of gasoline or planting 183 acres of U.S. forests a year. The solar energy produced will allow The Platt Brothers & Company to avoid 424,628 pounds
of carbon dioxide emissions a year.
Significant Financial Returns
The Platt Brothers & Company benefited from the Connecticut Zero Emission Renewable Energy Credit (ZREC) program. The ZREC program provides solar system owners with a 15-year contractual revenue source that pays
them a fixed price for the energy produced.
