Solar Photovoltaic System Specifications & Environmental Benefits
Taro’s solar photovoltaic system has a total capacity of 1 MW and is comprised of 3076 325W modules on the roof of their facility in Cranbury, NJ. The system is projected to produce around 1,253,000 kWh of electricity yearly to offset over 110% of the facility’s total annual electrical usage.
The environmental benefit of Taro’s system is equivalent to saving over 99,000 gallons of gas annually, powering over 90 homes for a year or planting 22,800 trees. Taro’s use of solar power will also result in the avoidance of 881 metric tons of CO2 per year.
Taro Takes Advantage of Solar Incentives
New Jersey’s Clean Energy Program makes the state a great place for solar system owners through compelling incentives. Taro was able to take advantage of New Jersey’s Solar Renewable Energy Credit (“SREC”) market. Through the program, solar system owners may earn an SREC for every MWh of energy produced and sell the credit for revenue.
